Dovie (McManus) Hales

Funeral services for Dovie McManus Hales, 91, of Holly Ridge, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Dunn Church of God, Dunn with Bro. Wendell Prince and Bro. Tim Fulmer officiating. Interment followed in the Gwin Cemetery, Mangham, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mrs. Dovie was born November 21, 1927 in Wisnor, LA and passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in Vicksburg, MS.

Mrs. Dovie is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Hales; daughter, Wanda Herron; parents, Homer and Ola McManus; and grandson, Timmy Antley; siblings, James McManus, Charles McManus, Lloyd McManus, and Helen Stockton.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth and Suzanne Hales of Holly Ridge and Bobby and Sue Hales of Rayville; daughter, Sybil and Russell Antley of Holly Ridge; grandchildren, Ken Hales, Kim Hales-Thorton, Joey Antley, Jeffrey Antley, Wendy Skeldon, Kristin Hales, William Hales, Frank Hales, and Chris Hales; 25-great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; sisters, Montiel Evans and husband, Howard and Shirley Ann Erskin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Ken Hales, Joey Antley, Jeffrey Antley, William Hales, Frank Hales, Chris Hales, Jay Skeldon, and Robert Burgess.
