Gladys Edith Moxley Boleware Obituary

Visitation and Funeral Services for Gladys Boleware, 83, of Epps, LA were held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Epps Baptist Church in Epps, LA. Visitation was at 2:00 PM and funeral Services at 4:00 PM, followed by graveside services at Epps Community Cemetery. Funeral services are by Brown Holley Funeral Home of Rayville, LA and will be led by the former pastor Bro. Johnny Smith and the current pastor Bro. Eddie Fuller.

Mrs. Boleware passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, LA. She graduated from San Benito High School, San Benito, TX in 1960 and went on to Cosmetology School and was a beautician for several years. She married her husband George Thomas Boleware on October 1, 1966, and moved to Epps, LA becoming a servant of the community, her family and as CEO “Mom” of her four children and the Boleware family.

Gladys’ love for the Lord was shown in her faithful attendance and devotion to the Epps Baptist Church Community through teaching children’s Sunday School Classes. She touched many lives and was a pillar of the community. She led by example and shared her faith with her friends and family in her own way. Her gift was making others smile, sharing her optimism, curiosity, independence, and love for life with everyone.

Her favorite place was at home creating something with her talented hands and creative eye for art and gardening. She did, however, get to travel with her husband on his cross-country trucking business over the years. After her husband’s death in 2010 she began to travel visiting her family in California, Kentucky, and Texas making her own new experiences. She was quoted after her husband’s funeral, “I’m starting my new chapter in life.” She was doing the things that made her happy with many opportunities to share her unassuming character and infectious smile.

Mrs. Boleware is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Marian Moxley of San Benito, TX, and her husband George Thomas Boleware of Epps, LA.

She is survived by her children: Rory Boleware of Munfordville, KY, Joe Boleware of San Diego, CA, Tonya Boleware Guice of Epps, LA and John Boleware of Palo Alto, CA. She is also survived by her sisters Alice Jo Nix of Austin, TX, Charlene Jones of Corpus Christi, Patsy Smith of Epps, LA and her sister-in-law Carolyn Boleware of Delhi, LA

She cherished her grandchildren Evan, Cameron, Blake, Koby, Dallin, Shelby, Lindsey, Sabrina, and Odessa Boleware, Gentry and Coen Guice, and Ellie Boleware. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Martin Lewis, Chris Lingefelt, Josh Wilhite, Doug Ed Fairchild, Cameron Boleware, and Dallin Boleware.

Honorary pallbearers were Coen Guice, Koby Boleware, Blake Boleware, John Boleware, Joe Boleware, and Rory Boleware.
