Funeral services for Aletha “Janie” Lingefelt Wilcher, 63, of Rayville, LA were held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Life Church, Winnsboro, LA with Bro. Jimmy Pelley, Garan Lively, and Pastor Kevin Bates. Interment was in Greer Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Janie was born August 26, 1960 in Delhi, LA and passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 in Alexandria, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Mary Lee Lingefelt; brother, Wayne Lingefelt; and sisters, Gail Patrick and Linda Lingefelt.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Rick Wilcher; children, Samantha Wood and husband, Steven, Jr of Crowville, LA, Veronica Thornhill of Rayville, LA, Rick Wilcher of Minden, LA, and Cloey Stokes of Ruston, LA; grandchildren, Caleb Thornhill and wife, Janece, Hillary Mooney and husband, Landon, Ben Wilcher, Jasmine Wilcher, Konnor Wood, Easton Wood, and Elias Cockerham; great grandchildren, Brookelyne Traniece, Brayleigh, Hainsley, Landon, Brennon, and Bentlee; siblings, Buddy and Cheryl Lingefelt and Maggie and Jimmy Simms; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers were George Word III, Cameron Seamans, Roger Cook, Jr, Josh Cook, Matt Marble, and Layton Williamson. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. Luke Hunter.
